Course Information

Kit List/Uniform


You are advised to bring the following:

Military Academy Uniform

2x Grade 1 MTP combat trousers, 1x 95 Work belt, 1x Self-Wicking T-Shirt (Green), 1x Combat Jacket
(Available via various websites and surplus shops, these will be recommended via the Academy Facebook page)

Public Services - Safety, Rescue and Security Uniform

2x trousers (Available via http://www.thomasmooretoymaster.com)

All Students Black Polo Shirt x2 and Soft Shell Jacket x1 (Available via http://www.thomasmooretoymaster.com)

  • Military Boots – Brown or Black
  • Personal PE kit consisting of black shorts and non-marking trainers
  • Swimming Kit
  • Towel, shower kit
  • Boot polish
  • Torch (Preferably a head torch)
  • A waterproof coat
  • 1x Large & 1x Small note book, pens, lever arch file with Polly pockets.

Residential Students – Duvet & pillow with cover, Bed sheets, Casual clothing, Washing powder, Cleaning equipment, any personal belongings, Computers etc.

Transport

Residential

If you are planning to take up accommodation you can apply for assistance with accommodation costs. You will hopefully have received a Residential Bursary and Accommodation booking form, but if not this is available online on our website.

Reporting Sick

All students must report to the college absence line if reporting sick without fail on 01395 562351.

Finance

The College is committed to helping learners easily access their chosen place of education, and for those in financial difficulty wishing to accept a Further Education course here at Bicton, we can help with the cost of such things as transport, equipment, materials, childcare, luncheon vouchers and more. Our team look at each application individually and assess in a fair and equitable manner, keeping all information that you have provided confidential.

The total contribution for all the mentioned trips, visits, expedition rations and formal dinner is £135. This can be paid in instalment of £85 within the first week and then a further £50 in February. Payment via cheque, payable to ‘The Cornwall College Group’ or cash receipted upon payment. A refundable deposit of £30 has been included which will cover any damage/loss of kit provided during the course.

Exam Results

The exam results day for GCSEs is on Thu 25th Aug. A member of the team will be available that day to discuss any issues but remember you only need to ring if you do not achieve the target grades set at the Course advice day.  

You MUST bring proof of your GCSE results and National Insurance Number on your first week for enrolment.
